Painter Shirley Sutterfield

Shirley Sutterfield's visual inspiration comes from the beauty found in nature
and the magnificant palette of colors displayed from earth to sky. Places she visits influence the subject matter
chosen for each painting. Images she sees translate into her own visual language and this effect can vary from subtle to bold. Shirley's art studies include Tulsa University and private workshops with contemporary Masters. She is an award- winning artist who has exhibited extensively throughout the Midwest. She was also the co-founder and co-owner of an art gallery in Tulsa
for several years.

Shirley paints with watercolors and acrylics in a style that suggests abstract and interpretational forms. Her most recent work involves 3 dimensional creations of canvas-on-canvas panels.

Through the use of rich color and mood, her goal is to transport the viewer into an idealistic place in which to escape, returning over again, refreshing the soul.
